This striking pair of mid-century blue art glass vases was designed by Rudolf Schrötter for Rosice Glassworks, Czechoslovakia, during the 1960s. Executed in heavy mould-blown glass, the vases feature deep oval optic lenses framed by flowing vertical contours, a hallmark of Schrötter’s sculptural approach to modernist glass design.
The translucent blue glass catches and refracts light beautifully, shifting from pale icy tones to deeper cobalt hues depending on angle and lighting. Compact yet visually powerful, these vases work equally well as decorative objects, bud vases, or sculptural accents within a mid-century, Scandinavian-influenced, or contemporary interior.
Both pieces measure 15cm tall x 9cm wide and remain in excellent vintage condition. A highly collectable designer pairing from one of Czechoslovakia’s most respected post-war glassworks.
